The Forest of Dean & Wye Valley Men’s Shed and The Forest Upcycling Project are delighted to announce that they have formed a partnership based on the ethos of both organisations. The partnership aims to:

• Work on projects that will aid the community championing ‘community ethics’

• Form relationships with and support other voluntary, charitable, (not for profit) groups and local authorities

• Support the upcycling of unwanted furniture, garden machinery and electrical goods for the local area

• Support volunteers (including disabled and unemployed people) to repair and upcycle items that can be purchased by local people; particularly low income families at affordable rates

• Provide training and experience to equip the volunteers from both organisations with the skills, equipment and techniques needed to carry out the partnerships aims

This new relationship will mesh seamlessly with the current aims and mission of the Shed’s reinforcing our goal of supporting our community.

The Shed is currently moving to The Forest Upcycling Project in Cinderford and would encourage anyone to get involved. The workshop is being fitted out on Tuesdays from 10:00 - 15:00 and tool repairs and refurbishments on Thursdays, in the Whitecroft workshop.

Machinery is needed so donations are gratefully received.

Any skilled or unskilled people with the energy and enthusiasm to help their community in a practical way, please come along. If you want to know more please e-mail the Shed for further information.
